I hate being vegan right now
The only reason I hate being vegan is because of how hard it can be. I am a lazy person when it comes to eating and I have never enjoyed cooking food and therefore this means I don't like putting in effort to eat good things...this is an issue when you are vegan, unlike most of the world.
Honestly, I would stop being vegan right now if I could, the only reason I pursue my veganism is because I have such incredibly strong morals when it comes to animals and their welfare and status on this earth. My morals are my own and I am not saying they are superior to anyone else (maybe) but I won't lie, I am sick of being hungry.
Other vegans or people with any sense will read this and be like 'well why don't you just stop being lazy'. Good question, but even then I find it difficult to make decent meals that I like that are super easy. Don't get me wrong, I am moaning, and being vegan is actually easier than you think, however when you're invited out for food, you usually end up eating salad or chips, or something with falafel or sweet potato.
I follow loads of bloggers and podcasts that give out great recipes and food prep ideas but can I be honest? I am so sick of green smoothies. Like fuck me, I really don't want to think about them again. I do drink them and I think they are great and I do think everyone should do it, but either I am shit at them or I literally am sick of the sight of them. There are more vegan meals than avocado on toast, falafel wraps, lentil bolognese and green acai bowls, it just isn't shown that much.
Perhaps I should just stop moaning, but quite honestly I do feel very tired and sad about the way I live my life as a vegan. I do it for the animals and the planet, and there is great food out there and the whole lifestyle is about being vegan, not just the food, but being cruelty free with your everyday life is even harder than you think when it comes to how clear brands are about their cruelty free status. You're constantly hopping about with no clue if you're doing the right thing. I will regret saying all this as it is honestly easy to do veganism and cruelty free shopping, I guess I am just a lazy millennial and I need to stop whining. I guess I just wish this was easier. Am I the only one?
